Our youth deserve the opportunity to build  their futures right here in Newmarket. By creating stronger connections between education, local businesses, and community organizations, we can help young people develop the skills, experience, and confidence they need to succeed while strengthening our local economy.

I want to:

• Expand the reach of the Ontario Summer Company Program by building stronger partnerships with local schools within Ward 1, the York Small Business Enterprise Centre, and the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce to connect students with resources and support to find employment opportunities.
• As an HR Professional, I will utilize my expertise to organize career fairs and  networking events at our community venues to give our youth more access to jobs, mentorship programs and internships.     
• Leverage municipal communi -       cation channels and community events to increase awareness and participation of these initiatives.  

Building a strong inclusive community and ensuring residents of all ages have access to the support, services, and opportunities they need to thrive at every stage of life. My goal is to strengthen connections between residents, community organizations, and municipal resources while ensuring every tax dollar is spent responsibly.

I want to:

• Work actively with our local women's shelters, food security programs, and  health organizations to assist families and individuals in need of support. 
•  Leverage our local Community Centre as a  hub by hosting workshops and information sessions that connect residents with local services for issues such as mental health resources and seniors' programs.
• Promote these events through the Town's communication channels to ensure residents know what services and supports are available to them.
• Encourage volunteerism for these programs to bring more resources where needed.

Thriving local businesses are the heart of a strong community. They create places where neighbours connect, sponsor community events, and  bring life to our main streets. By supporting our local businesses, we strengthen the sense of community that makes Ward 1 such a wonderful place to live, work, and grow together.

I want to:

• Help attract new small businesses and employers to Newmarket by connecting myself with the Central York Chamber of Commerce to enhance our local economy, which will ultimately better serve all residents of Ward 1. 
• Enable  entrepreneurs within Ward 1 to identify available government support programs and small business accelerators by working with organizations such as the York Small Business Enterprise Centre.
• Organize local events with vendor markets where  Ward 1 small business owners can promote their products and services to encourage residents and visitors of Newmarket to support our local merchants.

I believe we need to review crime prevention measures, improve vehicle traffic, and create safer pedestrian and cyclist solutions.

I want to:

• Create an emergency vehicle awareness campaign to better support the local fire and police services to improve road safety when sharing the road with emergency response vehicles.
• Implement measures to reduce speed on roads such as Ivsbridge Blvd., Cenotaph Blvd., and Madeline Heights. I will also research traffic and road safety issues at busy intersections such as Leslie St. and Mulock Dr.  to identify improvement opportunities. I will also assess pedestrian safety, e-bikes and e-scooter riders across Ward 1 to help reduce accidents.
• Engage with the York Region Police force and  organizations such as the Neighbourhood Watch Program to provide Ward 1 residents with better awareness and resources to reduce local crime  through meetings where we can share information, ideas and concerns.
